Scripps Oceanography Club Tom was and still is of the opinion that alcohol is an unhealthy, mind-disabling drug and that by encouraging the use of wine in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and for social purposes the Episcopal Church is exerting an unhealthy influence on children, as well as on adults. Tom has pointed out time and again that the Jewish religion, which comprises the Old and New Testaments and on which the Christian Church is based, is fascist, sexist and incompatible with an egalitarian and democratic way of life, as is the religion of Islam. Furthermore, says Tom, the Church is sending mixed messages to its communicants throughout the world. The Gospel of Jesus, as Tom has pointed out time and again to Episcopalians and other Christians, does not under ANY circumstances authorize Christians to bear arms--to settle disputes in armed combat. Tom furthermore has pointed out that the Episcopal Church itself is a mockery of the words of Jesus, whose own self-deprecating philosophy was to share one's possessions with everyone and to "turn the other cheek." Tom thus separated himself from the American Episcopal Church. He has since written An Existential Approach to Sound Mental Health, as well as other books, and has founded the The Universal Free Gentile Congregation and World Fellowship. His passion is the ocean and architectural design. More Photos of Tom and Wife And More |
